Report from the Grand Council: April 2005 A. COMMITTEE ACTIVITY With the completion of the Grand Council Charter re-write last quarter, the applicable changes are being brought into effect. In particular, the phasing out of members to comply with the term requirements has begun due to retiring members. After much discussion regarding phase-out planning it was found that a definitive phase-out plan will only be needed at the end of 2005 if the continuing attrition of long-standing members does not completely resolve the issue prior to the BOD appointed deadline of May 2006. The Grand Council approved the motion to move the Grand Council web and email services to the sca.org domain to allow for more direct control and access as well as increases in services available.. B. COMMITTEE STATUS AND COMMENDATIONS Selection of new Grand Council officers occurred. The position of secretary is the remaining officer position due to changeover May 1 and yet to be completed. Elected unopposed to positions were: Deputy Chair: Hrolf Herjolfssen Clerk: Katriona ni Chonarain NomCom Chair: Brendan ap Llewelyn NomCom Committee members: Cedric MacRory, Sovany Barcsi Janos, James Llewellyn ap Gruffydd, Katriona ni Chonarain, Wulfred Hansard of Richmond and Haraldr Bassi. Elected by majority: Chair: Haraldr Bassi The Nomination Committee has been directed to selected several names from the last nomination procedure that are still willing to serve to help bring the number of councillors back up to a working level in the short term. The nomination process for replacements for outgoing councillors will begin immediately with a call for volunteers willing to serve. C. PUBLISHABLE SUMMARY None. D. REQUEST FOR THE BOARD None.
