Report from the Grand Council: January, 2004
A. COMMITTEE ACTIVITY
The Grand Council has mostly discussed internal matters and philosophized on some of the requests for comment presented by the Board from the last meeting. Nothing of substance was given to the GC (until the week before Christmas, and we're on holiday until Twelfth Night, thank you very much) and nothing of substance occurred, despite the plethora of messages.
B. COMMITTEE STATUS AND COMMENDATIONS
The NomCom has completed its review of applications and recommendations, and is awaiting the Chair's determination of the number of vacant seats before forwarding their list of candidates to him for appointment.
The Secretary has advised the Chair that she will resign from the GC at the end of the current appointment period (June 2004). A successor will be selected and trained to make the transfer of responsibilities as smooth as possible. The chair has indicated that if the successor is in place earlier, the secretary may retire in advance of the end of her appointment.
The person maintaining the Board webpages needs to be reminded of the new address for the GC's webpage: http://www.schuldy.org/gc The current link does not work.
As well, the email link for the GC Chairman is no longer current, and needs to be updated as has previously been discussed with the SCA.org webmaster.
COMMENDATIONS:
The Grand Council would like to thank Catrin Gwynystlum, Caitlin Cheannlaidir, and Galleron de Cressy, all of whom recently stepped down as Members at Large. These gentles have all served honorably and given excellent counsel during their tenure. The GC has benefited from their wisdom and insight.
The Grand Council would like to thank the members of the Nominations Committee (Cathal Mac Edan na faeled, Haraldr Bassi, Jean Louis de Chambertin, Cosmo Kraven, Rosalyn MacGregor, and Margherita Alessia) for their efforts in producing a list of new members to add to our number.
C. PUBLISHABLE SUMMARY
The Grand council received no topic this quarter, and does not have any current proposals to present to the Board.
D. CONFIDENTIAL
Nothing.
Respectfully submitted, etc.,
Margo Lynn Hablutzel, Esq.
