E. GENERAL STATUS REPORT

The Grand Council voted on a number of items; please see the detail report for information, background, discussion, and a detailed count on the voting.

1. Should the Society have a Code of Conduct? NO (97% oppose)

2. Should the SCA have a Mission Statement instead? Yes (see proposed texts) Support by slightly more than 50% of the members voting

F. PUBLISHABLE SUMMARY

The Grand Council was asked to consider whether a Society-wide Code of Conduct is desirable. The consensus of the GC is "NO." However, adherence to and enforcement of existing rules of behaviour and conduct are strongly recommended. The GC raised several suggestions of how this can be done, including requiring (not merely encouraging) all participants at events to wear a reasonable attempt at pre-1600 garb; educating new participants early, as well as reminding those who do not participate frequently, of the basic rules of behaviour (including putting a summary, with references to Corpora, in an easily-accessible location); and reinforcing to officers (including autocrats) their ability and obligation to ensure adherence to these rules and 21st-Century laws.

G. UNDER THE ROCKS

None.

Respectfully submitted, etc., Margo Lynn Hablutzel, Secretary SCA: Morgan Cain - #014527 Barony of Steppes, Ansteorra
